About the Cultivar
My name is Olivia and I am passionate, driven, and completely committed to learning and achieving all I can in growing vines and making wine. My ethos is about doing as much as you can, in an efficient and beneficial way, whilst also having fun - being in nature, and making things should always be fun.
I obtained my Masters at Plumpton College in Viticulture and Oenology whilst working at a winery in West Sussex. Learning the in-depth theory complimented my practical and hands on experience.
Feeling inspired, and wanting to learn more from other inspirational wine regions, I packed my bags and jetted off to New Zealand. Here I worked for one of the largest wineries specialising in completely organic practices in the vineyard, and low intervention wine practices.
Knowing I had just scratched the surface on what I could learn, I packed up and moved to the South of France. There I worked for one of the highest quality Rosé producers, where I implemented practical techniques to ensure upmost quality. Following this I moved to a new wine region called Sancerre, where I worked for a high-end producer specialising in biodynamic practices. I learnt so much about responding to the weather, that sometimes the easy way is not the right way, and that quality and attention to detail is of vital importance.
After working with similar grape varieties in different climates, I decided to skip along down to Italy where I got to play with some big, bold grapes, and learnt the importance of balance in this style.
Since then I have moved back home to where I grew up in Dorset. Since being home I have consulted and worked for a range of vineyards, where I have been involved in site selection, planting, organising and training teams.
